We take pride in having staff that are bonded and insured, that have received training and that follow our rigorous policies and procedures. We have the highest standard of care for animals and our emergency planning is constantly updated. With two canine behaviour consultants and two registered veterinary technicians on staff, there is nothing that we aren’t able to handle.
We know that your pet is an important part of your family. Once you are a client of ours, you and your pet become an important part of our Dayna’s Pet Sitting family. Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, reptile or pocket pet we are here for you! One of our qualified, insured and bonded sitters will provide the in-your-home care your pet deserves.
Dayna’s Pet Sitting Inc. was originally founded based on Dayna’s experience with animal rescue. Dayna spent many years volunteering with several different rescue organizations and saw many terrible situations for so many animals. She wanted to create a way that would allow all animals to be welcomed, accepted, and cared for in their own environments to help relieve stress and keep them in a familiar setting.
Oftentimes we hear that many kennels will not accept dogs who may have aggressive tendencies or any serious medical conditions - but with us, that's not a problem! We have staff that can handle just about everything and anything!
We welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver to you the best service in the industry. Dayna's Pet Sitting Inc. is focused on providing the highest quality service and customer satisfaction - we will do everything we can to meet your expectations.
With a variety of pet care to choose from, we're sure you'll be happy working with us. Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us.
I have always been an avid animal lover and advocate. I grew up always having cats and dogs in my life and as a teenager my mother started to foster for rescue dogs. This is where my deep admiration for animal behaviour work began. She most often took in animals who had just been rescued from severe cases of neglect. Since then I have worked hard to become educated on animal welfare, behaviour, and general animal care so that I can continue to help pets in need.
In 2015, I completed an apprenticeship to become a Canine Behaviour Consultant. I am also a Certified Professional Pet Sitter (CPPS), and I have completed certificate programs in Canine Emotion & Cognition from Duke University as well as a certificate in Animal Behaviour & Welfare from the University of New Edinburgh. Although I have finished my formal education in behaviour science, I regularly attend seminars and workshops to continue to keep up with the ever changing science. My methodologies are positive training based and I do not encourage the use of prong, choke/pinch or shock collars.
Most recently, I have taken on the role of President for SafePet Ottawa - an charitable organization in Ottawa helping families flee domestic violence by fostering their animals. I am also a member of Women for a Humane Canada and sit on the National Link Coalition.
I was honoured in 2018 to be presented with the inaugural CBC Ottawa Trailblazers award and with the Tsirmpa Award at the Ottawa Wedding Awards for my work to make a difference in Ottawa.
You'll often see me at different rescue/charity events throughout the city helping to raise funds for different animal rescue organizations. I have also fostered for many different groups including: Loyal Rescue, Catahoula Rescue and Sit With Me Shelter Dog Rescue.
I can't wait to meet you and your fur-kids!

Owner / Sitter
I grew up with animals in my life (dogs, cat, hamster, and a black dwarf rabbit) but it is only in the last decade that I have grown to love them for who they are: unique characters, full of love and affection for those around them who they trust. I want every animal to know they can trust me so I can meet their true personality. I also like to keep a routine as much as possible and extend the same to animals I care for. This makes it much easier for everyone involved :)
I am ruled at home by my 3 chihuahuas - Taco, Tay-Tay, and Potamus - so please do send help (and bring some extra cuddles - you'll need it).
Being the CTO for Dayna's Pet Sitting - as well as working full-time for a software security company in Ottawa - my main passion is to drive success for the company via software solutions. Come and meet me at one of the many events we are at - I'm the one whose head reflects the sun more and more each day.
Director of Operations
Growing up on a farm I was surrounded by animals. I received my first 'dog' teddy bear as a toddler. I've since misplaced that stuffed animal, but I've never lost my love of all pets - dogs especially. Living on a farm taught me that every animal deserves the highest level of care and that all animals deserve love.
Since leaving PEI and moving to Ottawa, I've become heavily involved with a local dog rescue: Sit With Me Shelter Dog Rescue. I've fostered and volunteered in many capacities with them. I'm passionate about educating potential adopters about what it means to be a responsible dog owner. I've extensive animal experience, from birds to fish to cats, dogs, horses, cows, sheep and many others. I love them all.
When I'm not at work, I can be found at home with my own two pups, Remi and Nigel - with a good book in my hand and a cup of coffee nearby.
I’ve been in love with animals my entire life as family and friends could attest. Ever since I can remember my dreams and goals have always involved animals in some way. I am a registered veterinary technician since 2009. I am a certified animal trainer and behaviour specialist with La formation Jacinthe Bouchard and I’m currently completing my professional dog trainer program with Kim Cooper (Best Friends Dog Training). I keep up current positive reinforcement training practices through workshops, conferences and webinars as there’s always something new to learn in the field of animal behaviour.
I’m currently working at the Ottawa Humane Society as the Coordinator: Canine services, which gives me quite a bit of experience handling dogs of all shapes and of all backgrounds.
From dogs, cats and goldfishes to cougars, wolves and racoons I’ve trained with them all. I love challenges and I love finding solutions to improve relationships between humans and animals of all kinds. My passion is training and any opportunity I have to interact with someone’s pet is an opportunity to train so pet sitting is a natural win win for everyone.
I currently share my home with 3 dogs (Navi, Kiwi and Schmidt), 3 cats (Boots, Zort and Pym) and a husband. The more the merrier I always say!
In my spare time I also foster dogs and the occasional cat from a local shelter: Ottawa Humane Society or Sit with Me Shelter Dog Rescue.
I look forward to sharing my passion with your pets.
Animals have been a major love of mine my entire life. I remember as a kid going to dog and cat shows, just so I could see the different breeds up close. I was absolutely obsessed with dogs! An Ottawa native, I also spent a lot of weekends at the Experimental Farm, checking out the cows, pigs, horses, and sheep.
I spent several years working at a local animal hospital before making a move to the public service. I’ve made the decision to have animals a more central part of my life again, and am thrilled to be a part of the Dayna’s Pet Sitting team. I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pocket pets. Cats are a particular interest of mine. I take enormous satisfaction from gaining the trust of anxious and shy kitties, and ensuring they are less stressed while you are away.
I currently share my home and my heart with 2 rescue cats. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, and spinning records. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Pets have always been a part of my day. As far back as I can remember we had at least 1 dog, at all times. My family took in numerous stray dogs, those who didn't get picked up by owners were taken in.
I can remember my Father bringing home a cardboard box one night with ducklings. We fed and kept them until they were able to leave us. The story still comes up at family gatherings.
Growing up, I spent almost every summer on my Grandfather's farm which gave me a great window into life with and respect for animals.
Currently we have a 12 year old male orange tabby named Walter. We rescued Walter when he was a kitten. Our big boy Clifford (orange male tabby) left us in the summer of 2017 at 17 years of age. Clifford was also rescued as a kitten.
I am the proud mom to 4 dogs, (Regalia, a Brussels Griffon, Buster, a Pug/French Bulldog mix, Hamilton a chihuahua and Benito a chihuahua mix), 1 Romeo and one Timneh African Grey parrot named Echo – all are rescues. I have been an animal lover and advocate for as long as I can remember. From the little budgie I rescued from the Central Ottawa Exhibition when I was 11 to the stray dogs and cats I was constantly finding and returning to their homes, I loved them all.
I have many years’ experience fostering dogs for local rescue groups and also pocket pets for the Ottawa Humane Society. I have a real soft spot for the shy, sensitive dogs and love to see the transformation as they slowly gain their confidence.
My life revolves around pets and people and I look forward to meeting so many more, maybe yours!
Growing up we always had cats and/or dogs. They have always been a part of my life. This led me to pursue a career in the Veterinary field and become a Registered Veterinary Technician. For the past 8 years I have dedicated my life to caring for animals; in my home and at work. We are entrusted with the care of family members and I take that to heart. I treat them like they were my own.
At home, we have three cats (Pistol, Ezra and Asia) who have come into our lives in their own special ways and just recently adopted a dog, George.
I cannot wait to meet you and your fur babies!
Just like every kid, I always wanted animals growing up. I was lucky enough to get two cats when I was just 5 years old. Getting them at that age taught me how to properly treat them and understand their behaviour. I was spoiled even more when we got our family dog at age 11. Living with 3 pets was amazing. Most people don’t get that opportunity and it saddens me because I personally believe they teach us a lot. If I could, I’d own and adopt all the animals. They’re all just so darn cute ! I joined the Dayna’s Pet Sitting team as I have a passion for animals. They really do just put a smile on your face and can make any bad day good. You get the same respect you give, and every animal (& person) deserves the upmost.
Natalia joined our team in the late summer of 2019. Natalia is a veterinary assistant by profession as well as a public relations practitioner.
She has had a strong passion for animals and animal welfare from a young age, with a particular interest in fundraising and humane education. It was this passion that encouraged Natalia to co-found a not-for-profit organization, Humane Outreach for Latin Animals "HOLA" to help fund spay/neuter campaigns for dogs and cats in need in Latin American countries.
She has volunteered in other provinces and countries with organizations such as the Canadian Animal Assistance Team and Veterinarians Without Borders.
Natalia is a self proclaimed crazy cat lady, but she finds 40% of her heart occupied by dogs.
Dayna and her team are wonderful! We have hired them for Overnight Care as well as Check-Ins and Pee Breaks multiple times in the past. Dayna and her team go out of their way to provide us with the peace of mind that our boys will be well taken care of, fed and happy when we come home. There's no one else we would call to care for our dogs.
Alex & Tracy
Dayna´s Pet Sitting is extremely realiable, they take care of your dogs as if their was their own. They are extremely causious with their care, feeds and walks.
Karolyn was our pet sitter and was extremely helpful during out time away. She offered to water our garden which was not in her job description which was very appreciated. Both she and Dayna are professional and we feel completely confident when leaving the house and Marlo in their care
